Standing at a monumental 170cm, this totem evokes the grandeur of ancient Roman architecture, reinterpreted through a contemporary, organic lens. When illuminated, the solid alabaster transforms from a cool, stoic stone into a warm, ethereal beacon. The natural veining—ranging from subtle smoke grey to deep russet—creates a unique, mesmerizing landscape within each segment, casting a diffused, amber glow that softens the hard lines of modern interiors.

Materiality & Craftsmanship

Unlike mass-market reproductions that rely on resin or faux-stone composites, the Palatino is constructed from 100% solid, genuine alabaster blocks. Each geometric segment—spheres, cylinders, and soft oblate forms—is hand-selected for grain continuity before being lathe-turned by our master artisans. The stone retains its heavy, cool-to-the-touch quality, grounded by a substantial solid wood base that ensures stability. Because this is natural stone, no two lamps are identical; every fissure and cloud pattern is a testament to the earth’s geological history.

The Casalola Standard

At Casalola Lights, we prioritize engineering as highly as aesthetics. Before leaving our workshop, the Palatino undergoes rigorous structural and electrical testing. We utilize high-grade, heat-resistant internal components compatible with modern LED technology to ensure the stone is illuminated evenly without overheating.
