Materiality

Constructed without compromise, the Appia features a tiered exoskeleton of solid copper, finished in a deep, lustrous gold. This framework houses hand-selected K9 crystal rods, specifically treated to achieve a rare amber clarity that mimics the glow of traditional candlelight. Unlike mass-produced glass or acrylic alternatives, these lead-free crystals possess a superior weight and refractive index, ensuring that the light remains vibrant and free of distortion across the lamp’s entire 155cm height.

Each Appia column is hand-assembled in our Rome studio, where every crystal rod is precision-seated within the copper lattice to ensure structural perfectness. We conduct extensive thermal and electrical safety tests, ensuring the internal lighting array operates at peak efficiency. To guarantee its safe journey, the lamp is secured in a custom-molded interior within a reinforced, transit-insured wooden crate, arriving at your doorstep ready for immediate specification.
