Curved white glass and a perforated metal frame give this Casalola wall sconce a real mid-century French attitude. A soft cone of opal glass floats over a triangular, rounded-corner backplate in brass-finished iron, edged with a mesh / perforated border that throws a subtle pattern on the wall. Two small black buttons fix the glass shade and add graphic detail.

At 15 cm wide, 23 cm high and only 10 cm deep, this vintage-style glass and metal wall sconce is compact enough for narrow hallways and beside beds, but striking enough to anchor a gallery wall.

Design, materials & style

  • Layered shield shape with softly rounded corners, inspired by 1950s French perforated metal sconces.

  • Inner opal glass cone diffuses the bulb, giving a warm, even glow without harsh glare.

  • Outer frame in iron with a brass-tone finish, plus a fine perforated border that reads greenish/graphite depending on the option and throws a delicate light pattern.

This piece is perfect when you want an affordable way into:

  • Mid-Century Modern and Art Deco rooms as a glass and metal wall sconce above a sideboard or bar cart

  • Hollywood Regency and Modern Victorian bedrooms for vintage bedside wall lights

  • Eclectic and Parisian apartment interiors as a retro hallway wall lamp

  • Small entryways and powder rooms where you need an Art Deco wall sconce that doesn’t stick out too far

Light quality

The sconce is designed for a small LED bulb sitting behind the opal glass, so the light is soft but useful.

  • Works best with a 4–5W LED bulb (small base like E14 or E12 depending on region), giving around 400–450 lumens – enough for reading in bed when mounted close, or for accent lighting in a hallway.

  • Standard setup uses 3000K warm white, ideal for bedrooms, living areas and vintage-style spaces.

  • On request, Casalola can supply 4000K neutral or 6000K cool white if you want a sharper, gallery-style light.

With a dimmable bulb and compatible dimmer, the lamp goes from bright enough to see by to a subtle night glow.

Safety, build & installation

  • Frame: iron with brass-tone finish, perforated edge detail.

  • Shade: opal glass, mouth-blown look with smooth edges.

  • Electrical components engineered to comply with CE, UL and CSA standards, in line with other high-end glass and metal wall sconces.

This is a hardwired wall sconce; a qualified electrician should install it, especially in bathrooms or commercial spaces.

Q1. What materials is this Casalola wall sconce made from?
The frame is iron with a brass-tone finish and a perforated metal border; the inner shade is opal glass that diffuses the bulb for a soft mid-century glow.

Q2. What décor styles does this vintage-style glass wall lamp work with?
It’s ideal for Mid-Century Modern, Art Deco, Hollywood Regency, Modern Victorian and Eclectic interiors. It also adds character to minimalist spaces by bringing in a small, sculptural vintage detail.

Q3. Where should I use this glass and metal wall sconce?
Common placements:

  • As a bedside wall light above small nightstands

  • In hallways and staircases spaced along the wall

  • On either side of a console or bar cabinet in the living room

  • In a powder room or dressing room as a soft accent light

Q4. Is one sconce enough light for a room?
One sconce at around 400–450 lumens suits accent lighting or one side of a bed. For general lighting in a living room or hallway, plan two or more sconces or combine with ceiling lights and floor lamps.

Q5. Can this be used in a bathroom?
In the correct IP-rated version and positioned outside direct splash zones, it can be used in powder rooms and bathrooms for a warm, flattering glow. Always follow local electrical code and use a qualified electrician.

Q6. What type of bulb should I buy?
Choose a small-base LED bulb (E14 or E12 depending on your region), 4–5W, in 3000K warm white for that mid-century mood. A frosted bulb keeps the light smooth behind the opal glass.

Q7. Can I mount it in pairs or upside down?
Yes. The design looks great in pairs or a row, and can be mounted with the wider end up or down depending on the look you prefer. Your electrician just needs to orient the backplate correctly.
