Drawing inspiration from the industrial railway maps of 20th-century Rome, its orthogonal branches stretch outward in a confident, calculated rhythm. It dominates the horizontal plane without obstructing the vertical view, making it the definitive choice for grand dining tables or boardroom settings. When illuminated, the cylindrical diffusers cast a crisp, architectural light that highlights the warm, metallic grain of the structure itself.

The Materiality

While others mimic this aesthetic using painted aluminum tubing, the Ostiense is constructed from structural-grade Copper Alloy. The framework is not merely screwed together; the joints are milled for precision fit, creating a seamless flow of energy from the central stem to the furthest tip. The 165cm span is rigid and substantial—there is no sagging, no trembling. The surface is hand-finished to a living, burnished luster that will deepen and evolve, developing a unique patina that tells the story of the room it inhabits.

The Casalola Standard

A chandelier of this width (165cm) acts as a fulcrum. Balance is critical. At the Casalola workshop, we pre-assemble the entire branching structure to calibrate the center of gravity, ensuring it hangs perfectly plumb without the need for unsightly counterweights. We test the conductivity of the copper framework to guarantee zero-resistance dimming performance. The borosilicate glass diffusers are individually checked for clarity and thermal shock resistance before being packed in custom foam inserts for transit.
