The Atmosphere

The Volterra Linear is a sanctuary of soft light. Unlike glass, which refracts and sparkles, natural alabaster captures the light and holds it, glowing from within like a ember. This 1.8-meter-long floating sculpture acts as a mood anchor for the room. The stone panels diffuse the internal illumination into a creamy, golden wash that eliminates harsh shadows and makes skin tones look radiant. It brings the quiet, grounded energy of the earth into the center of your home.

The Materiality

Authenticity is non-negotiable. The frame is constructed from Solid Heavy-Gauge Copper, finished in a dark, hand-rubbed bronze patina that contrasts beautifully with the pale stone. The panels are cut from Genuine Spanish Alabaster, a sedimentary stone prized for its translucency and unique "smoke" veining. We do not use resin or faux-stone composites. Each panel is a slice of geological history, cool to the touch and visually deep. Because it is natural stone, no two panels are identical, creating a living texture across the fixture's perimeter.

The Casalola Standard

Stone is heavy and fragile; engineering must be flawless. We reinforce the copper frame with a steel sub-structure to support the massive weight of the alabaster without deflection. The panels are secured with custom copper clips lined with felt gaskets to protect the stone from stress fractures. We ship The Volterra Linear in a timber crate with the alabaster panels removed and packed in individual high-density foam "library slots," ensuring they arrive safe and ready for sequential installation.
