amber-glass-bowl-chandelier-brass-cltxg075
Amber Glass Bowl Chandelier | Brass Clamps, Chain | CLTXG075

This chandelier is a wide, shallow bowl of amber textured glass: a ring of thick glass panels held edge to edge by bolted brass clamps, closed underneath by a textured glass dish and hung on three brass chains. It has the weight and presence of a mid-century Scandinavian piece, with the hardware left on show as part of the design.

The glass

The amber is in the body of the glass and the surface is cast with an uneven, rippled texture, so the four lamps inside turn the whole bowl into a warm, glowing ring. Light passes through the panels to the room and through the dish below, giving a mix of ambient glow and downlight. At 2700K it reads deep gold; cool light makes amber look brown.

Sizing and placement

At 75 cm (29.5") across and 43.6 cm (17.2") high, it is made to anchor a dining table of 1.8 to 2.4 m (6 to 8 ft), a living room or an entrance hall. Over a table, hang the base of the bowl 75 to 90 cm (30 to 35") above the surface. The chains can be made longer to order for high ceilings.

Lamping and installation

Four E26 lamp holders (E27 outside North America). Warm white LED at 2700K. Hardwired; have a qualified electrician fix it to a joist or reinforced box.

Care

Switch off and let the lamps cool. Dust the glass with a soft brush. For a deeper clean, wipe it with a damp microfibre cloth and a little mild glass cleaner applied to the cloth. Wipe the brass dry, with no polish or abrasives.

Specifications

Size: Ø 75 cm × H 43.6 cm (Ø 29.5" × H 17.2")

Materials: textured amber glass and brass

Lamps: 4 × E26 (E27 outside North America), bulbs not included

Suspension: three brass chains and canopy

Made to order

Every piece is made to order in our workshop.
