It comes in three sizes: 55 cm (21.7″) wide and 43 cm (16.9″) high, with four layers and six lights; 80 cm (31.5″) wide and 55 cm (21.7″) high, with six layers and fourteen lights; and 100 cm (39.4″) wide and 62 cm (24.4″) high, with seven layers and twenty lights. It hangs from a 30 cm (11.8″) brass chain and suits a round dining table, a primary bedroom, a dressing room or an entrance hall.

The onyx

Honey onyx is a banded natural stone, translucent where it is cut thin. Bands of honey, amber and cream run through it, with cloudy passages between them, so the pattern and depth of colour are different on every piece. Off, the Goccia reads as a cascade of warm, banded stone. On, every drop glows from within and the honey tones deepen layer by layer.

The frame

The frame, chain and hardware are solid brass. Chrome or black stainless steel can be made on request.

Sizing and placement

The 55 cm (21.7″) suits a round table of about 90 to 120 cm (35 to 47″), a bedroom or a dressing room. The 80 cm (31.5″) suits a round table of about 130 to 170 cm (51 to 67″) or an entrance hall. The 100 cm (39.4″) suits a round table of about 170 to 220 cm (67 to 87″), seating ten or more, or a large entrance hall. Over a table, hang the bottom of the chandelier 75 to 90 cm (30 to 35″) above the surface.

Suspension

With the standard 30 cm (11.8″) chain, the 55 cm hangs about 73 cm (29″) from the ceiling, the 80 cm about 85 cm (33″) and the 100 cm about 92 cm (36″). That suits ceilings of roughly 2.3 to 2.6 m (7.5 to 8.5 ft) over a dining table. For higher ceilings the chain is made longer to order.

The light

The lamps sit among the teardrops and the light passes through the layers of stone, so the Goccia gives a soft, warm, layered light rather than a direct downlight. At 2700K the onyx glows amber and honey; cooler light flattens it.

Lamping and installation

Six, fourteen or twenty E12 or E14 candelabra lamps, by size. Use warm white LED at 2700K. Bulbs are not included. The 55 cm weighs about 12 kg (26 lb), the 80 cm about 23 kg (51 lb) and the 100 cm about 40 kg (88 lb). The fixture is hardwired and rated IP20. For the 80 cm and 100 cm, have your electrician fix it to a joist or reinforced blocking rather than a standard ceiling box.

Care

Switch off and let the lamps cool first. Dust the onyx with a soft dry cloth or a feather duster: no water, no sprays and no acidic cleaners. Wipe the brass with a soft dry cloth.

Made to order

Every Goccia is made to order. Chain length and frame finish can be specified before production, and dimming is available on request. Trade clients can request drawings and project quantities through our trade program.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0750/6821/1484/files/goccia-honey-onyx-chandelier-clxz7410-ho-off.png?v=1792342655
