It measures 26.7 cm (10.5") across and 52.1 cm (20.5") high.

The glass

The opal glass is white through its body, so the lamp disappears and each lobe glows on its own, with the fine brass ribs drawing a line between them. Switched off it reads as a piece of porcelain; lit at 2700K it turns a warm, milky white. Cooler light makes it look flat and blue-white.

Sizing and placement

Its height is what sets it apart from the original lantern. It holds its own in a stairwell or double-height entrance, hangs well in a pair either side of a hall, and makes a row of two or three over a kitchen island spaced about 75 cm (30") apart, with the base 80 to 90 cm (32 to 35") above the counter.

Suspension

The lantern hangs on a brass chain from a matching canopy. The chain is shortened at installation, or made longer to order for a stairwell drop. A sloped ceiling adapter is available.

Lamping and installation

One E26 lamp holder (E27 outside North America). Warm white LED at 2700K. The lantern weighs 3.95 kg (8.71 lb). Hardwired; have a qualified electrician install it.

Care

Switch off and let the lamp cool. Dust with a soft dry cloth. Wipe the glass with a damp microfibre cloth and a little mild glass cleaner applied to the cloth, never sprayed onto the fixture.
