It is heavier than it looks and cool to the touch — the two easiest ways to tell real stone from resin, which glows flat and feels warm. Dry, soft cloth only. Alabaster, travertine and marble are porous natural stone: water, sprays and chemicals soak in and leave marks that cannot be removed, so never use a damp cloth on the stone. Metal parts: dry microfiber cloth. Unlacquered brass and copper patinate naturally; a mild brass polish restores the original tone if preferred, kept away from any stone or fabric. Switch the light off and let it cool before cleaning.
