Parefeuille Petite — Backlit Terracotta Wall Sconce in Blonde & Antique Brass

The Parefeuille Petite throws a soft halo behind a slab of hand-fired blonde terracotta — the glow you get from a candle flickering against an old plaster wall, except it stays. No exposed bulb, no glare, no fixture trying to be the loudest thing on the wall. Off, it reads as a piece of stone hung as art. On, the wall behind it warms up.

Where it actually belongs:

• Mounted in pairs above a powder room mirror, where the warm backlight flatters skin instead of flattening it
• Down a long hallway at intervals — the terracotta reads as art during the day, atmosphere at night
• Either side of a bed, so the nightstand stays uncluttered and the wash spills onto the headboard
• Flanking a limewashed or stone fireplace
• In a stairwell, catching the wall texture as you climb

Each slab is shaped, fired, and finished by hand in our workshop in Torino. The blonde tone isn't paint or stain — it's the natural color of the clay we use, so every piece arrives with its own mineral striations, faint kiln marks, and slight variations in edge. That's the point. None of these are flaws — they're the reason no two of these sconces are identical, and the reason a designer specifying for a Mediterranean revival or warm-modern interior will spec this one over a glass-and-metal alternative.

The brass standoffs are a soft antique finish — closer to champagne than yellow gold — and they hold the slab a finger's width off the wall so the light escapes evenly around all four edges.

The depth from the wall is just under three inches, so it sits flush enough for tight corridors and powder rooms without intruding into circulation space. Hardwired, UL listed for US 120V, installs into any standard junction box. The bulb is hidden behind the slab — E12 candelabra base — and the fixture is built to be dimmable on request (specify at checkout and it ships pre-wired for a standard wall dimmer).
