A block of stone, lit from within.

The Monolite is exactly what it looks like: a single solid block of carved alabaster, raw-faceted on all visible surfaces, mounted flush to the wall. No decoration, no hardware visible, no shade — just the stone itself, glowing from inside. Off, it reads as a piece of quarried alabaster hung as sculpture. On, the whole block becomes the light source, and the mineral veining inside the stone maps itself across the wall in soft, shifting patterns.

This is the most elemental piece in our catalog. There's no composition of parts — the design is the material, and the material is the design.

IP65 — the one that goes where the others can't.

The Monolite is our only IP65-rated sconce. That's the rating for fully dust-tight fixtures protected against water jets from any direction — the same rating used for exterior wall lighting and wet-rated commercial installations. It means the Monolite can live where other alabaster sconces can't:

• Inside a shower enclosure — not just on the bathroom wall, but inside the wet zone itself
• Outdoor patios and covered porches — direct rain-spray environments
• Pool houses and cabanas — high-humidity, chlorine-adjacent, wet floor
• Outdoor kitchens and bar areas — splashed surfaces, weather exposure
• Saunas and steam rooms — continuous steam without finish damage

This is not an upgrade we added — it's a design decision from the start. Solid alabaster without seams, brass hardware fully sealed inside the stone, integrated LED protected from moisture infiltration. We built the piece for the rooms where other fixtures fail.

About the alabaster.

Every Monolite is carved from a single solid block of Italian alabaster — not assembled from pieces, not hollowed shell with a bulb inside. The raw-faceted surface is intentional. Rather than polish the stone smooth, we leave the carving marks and natural cleavage planes visible, so each face of the block catches light differently. The veining, color banding, and small mineral inclusions are intrinsic to the specific block the piece was cut from. No two Monolites are identical.

When the LED inside is lit, the alabaster transforms. The density of the stone means light doesn't pass through uniformly — it concentrates in the thinner regions, dims in the denser ones, and picks up the mineral striations as it travels through. From across a room it reads as a warm glowing block. Close up, it reads as a map of the stone itself.

About the brass.

The mounting hardware is solid brass, fully enclosed within the stone. You don't see it in normal installation. The backplate is sealed against the alabaster, which is part of how we achieve the IP65 rating — no exposed metal joints for water to penetrate.

Color temperature is warm 3000K by default — the temperature that best reveals the honey tones of alabaster. 6000K cool white is available on request for contemporary interiors, commercial spaces, or outdoor applications where cooler light reads more architectural.

Integrated LED, user-replaceable.

The LED strip is rated 50,000 hours — roughly 17 years at 8 hours of daily use. When it eventually reaches end-of-life, the strip is user-replaceable through a concealed access point on the back of the fixture. The Monolite is built to outlast its first installation and be rebuilt for a second.

Dimmable.

Standard TRIAC 120V AC dimming — works with Lutron Caseta, standard US residential dimmers, and most home automation systems.
