The alabaster chandelier that goes where the others can't.

A rectangular frame of solid carved Italian alabaster, suspended on stainless steel cables from a slim horizontal canopy. The frame is a clean linear geometry — honest material, no decoration, precise proportions. When the integrated LED lights the alabaster from within, the full rectangle glows along its length, and the natural veining inside the stone maps itself across the ceiling and the table below.

IP65-rated — unlike any other chandelier in our catalog.

The Cornice is the only alabaster chandelier we build to IP65 specification — fully dust-tight, protected against water jets from any direction, and rated for continuous wet and damp environments. This is the rating typically reserved for outdoor architectural lighting and commercial wet-zones. It means the Cornice lives where other alabaster fixtures can't:

• Over a freestanding tub in a primary bathroom — the atmospheric alabaster glow you want above a soaking tub, in a room condition that would fail a standard-rated fixture within a year.
• Above a covered outdoor kitchen, pergola, or patio — directly exposed to the humidity and occasional splashing of outdoor cooking and dining.
• Over a pool house bar, cabana seating, or indoor-outdoor transition zone — the chandelier that works equally well with the doors open or closed.
• In a spa treatment room, wellness space, or steam-adjacent area — continuous humidity without finish or LED degradation.
• Hospitality outdoor dining — boutique hotel restaurant patios, poolside lounges, club terraces where the design brief asks for interior-quality lighting in exterior conditions.
• Primary bathroom over a long double vanity — the Medio and Grande sizes run long enough to serve as both ambient and task lighting for a serious bathroom.

About the alabaster.

The frame is hand-cut from solid Italian alabaster — four sides of a rectangular loop, each cut from a single block, joined at the corners with concealed hardware. This is labor-intensive work: each corner joint must be precisely mitered to maintain the linear geometry, and each side has to be selected so the veining reads coherent across the full frame rather than as four mismatched pieces.

The two rings in the frame sit at 8.5cm height — thick enough to contain the LED strip with even light transmission through the stone, thin enough to read as a refined architectural element rather than a heavy block.

You can choose the veining character at checkout:

• More veining — heavy patterned, dramatic, high-contrast dark mineral lines
• Less veining — softer, cloudier, more uniformly translucent
• Random selection — we choose from stock

The hardware.

Canopy and suspension points are stainless steel with your choice of finish: brass (default, warm), brushed black (contemporary, pairs with dark-toned rooms and outdoor settings), or silver/polished stainless (cool, modern, pairs with contemporary kitchens and bathrooms).

Stainless steel rather than coated metal because the Cornice's IP65 rating requires hardware that won't corrode in wet environments. Outdoor-rated by necessity; indoor-appropriate by choice.

The light source.

Integrated LED along the full length of the alabaster frame, default 2700K warm white — the temperature that best reveals the honey tones in alabaster and reads as candlelight in dining contexts. On request at checkout: 3000K (warm-neutral), 4000K (neutral for kitchens and outdoor evening use), or 6000K (cool, for contemporary commercial applications).

Rated 50,000 hours — roughly 17 years at 8 hours of daily use. The LED strip is user-replaceable through a concealed access point on the frame. Sealed and user-serviceable — a rare combination that our workshop engineered specifically for the Cornice's wet-rated applications.

Dimmable on TRIAC 120V AC. Works with Lutron Caseta, standard US residential dimmers, and most home automation systems.

The suspension.

The frame hangs on two thin stainless steel cables from a rectangular canopy. Standard cable length is 1 meter (39 inches) — fully adjustable at installation and extendable on request for higher ceilings. Electricians shorten the cables as needed at install; if your ceiling requires a longer drop (12+ ft ceilings, for example), specify extended cable at checkout.
