Nineteen spheres, stacked vertically.

A vertical cluster of 19 spheres mounted to a solid brass central spine — the largest at the top, descending in tiers, the smallest at the bottom. The composition reads as a cascade rather than a chandelier. The design draws on the vertical cluster work of 1960s Italian masters — Stilnovo, Sciolari, Sarfatti — who treated lighting as sculptural composition rather than functional fixture.

Aventino is the cluster piece in your catalog where presence matters more than restraint. For double-height foyers, two-story stairwells, formal dining rooms with serious ceiling height, and great rooms that ask for a vertical anchor.

[ALABASTER VERSION] About the alabaster.

Every sphere is hand-carved from solid Italian alabaster — not glass, not resin, not poured composite. Hand carving at this scale and quantity (19 spheres ranging from approximately 7cm to 14cm in diameter) is real labor: each sphere is shaped, hollowed, and finished individually by the same workshop that builds the Anelli and Grappolo collections.

The veining of every sphere is unique to the block it was carved from. Within a single Aventino, the spheres are intentionally not matched — heavier veining beside softer translucency, the way real stone always varies.

• More veining — heavily patterned, dramatic, high-contrast mineral lines
• Less veining — softer, cloudier, more uniformly translucent

When lit, each sphere becomes its own internal light source. The cluster reads from below as a constellation of 19 warm moons.

[GLASS VERSION] About the glass.

Every sphere is hand-blown by Italian glassmakers, using a marbling technique that pulls amber, cream, and soft brown mineral swirls through the molten glass during the blowing process. The result is a finish that reads visually like alabaster while being lighter, more uniform in translucency, and significantly more durable than carved stone.

This is not stone-imitation tinted glass — it's hand-blown glass with internal pigmentation, an Italian glassmaking tradition that predates contemporary alabaster lighting. The marbling within each sphere is unique; no two are identical.

• More marbling — dramatic, high-contrast swirls
• Less marbling — softer, cleaner, more uniform glow

When lit, the glass spheres glow with a warmer, more even diffusion than alabaster — closer to a lantern than a stone. The cluster reads from below as 19 floating warm orbs.

About the brass frame.

The central spine and all sphere mounts are solid machined brass — non-magnetic, rust-proof, finished by hand. Solid construction throughout: 19 spheres on a vertical brass spine is enough load that plated hardware would reveal itself within years as the finish wore at mount points.

Default finish is matte black (shown). Also available in brass at no additional cost — specify at checkout.

Unlacquered brass darkens gently over time. Matte black holds its finish indefinitely.

Bulbs and light.

19 × E12 candelabra LED, dimmable. Pre-wired for US 120V or EU 220V depending on shipping address. Total load with standard LED candelabra bulbs is approximately 75-115W actual draw — runs comfortably on any standard dimmer.

Dimmable on TRIAC 120V AC — Lutron Caseta, US residential dimmers, most home automation.

Custom IP65 wet-rated version available.

Standard ships dry-rated for indoor use. For wet-zone applications — pool houses, covered atriums, exterior covered entry — Aventino is available with full IP65 specification. Add $650 at checkout. Lead time extends 3–4 weeks.

Drop rod and ceiling clearance.

Standard drop rod is 30cm / 12" above the cluster, fixing the lowest sphere approximately 130cm / 51" below the canopy. Extended drop rods on request for double-height ceilings, stairwells, and atriums — specify your ceiling height at checkout and we ship to your requirement at no additional charge.

Minimum ceiling clearance: 9 ft for the lowest sphere to clear standard sight lines. For dining or seating applications, hang so the lowest sphere sits 32–36" above the table or 84"+ above the floor.
