De Volterra vloerlamp beheerst de ruimte met een stilte die alleen eeuwenoude steen kan bieden. Ontworpen om de stilte van een Romeinse heiligdom op te roepen, fungeert de massieve albasten koepel als een natuurlijke diffuser, die het licht verzacht tot een warme, etherische gloed die de unieke, geologische aders van de steen onthult. Met een hoogte van 150 cm is zijn silhouet een studie in balans—verankerd door een donkere, obelisk-geïnspireerde ijzeren basis die naar boven toe taps toeloopt om de lichtgevende steen te omarmen, waardoor een architectonische dialoog tussen schaduw en licht ontstaat.
Materiële integriteit
Bij Casalola verwerpen we nepafwerkingen en geplaatste kunststoffen. De kap is uit één blok echt natuurlijk albast gehouwen, met de hand gedraaid om de organische aders te benadrukken die elk exemplaar tot een uniek kunstwerk maken. De basis is gemaakt van massief ijzer, gesmeed en afgewerkt met een donkere, gezwart patina die het gewicht en de duurzaamheid van het armatuur benadrukt. Dit is geen holle buis; het is een geaard, substantieel lichtinstrument dat ontworpen is om gracieus te verouderen naast de architectuur waarin het zich bevindt.

Voordat de Volterra onze werkplaats in Rome verlaat, ondergaat hij een rigoureuze driepuntsinspectie. We controleren de stabiliteit van de ijzeren lassen, de integriteit van de steen en de veiligheid van de elektrische componenten.
