Vernoemd naar de oude Toscaanse stad die bekend staat om zijn doorschijnende steen, is The Volterra een architectonisch meesterwerk dat het moderne huis verzacht. Wanneer verlicht, verspreiden de twaalf interne lampen licht door handgesneden platen van echt Spaans albast, waardoor de steen verandert van een koele, monolithische sculptuur in een warm, amberkleurig lichtvat. Het gelaagde, geometrische profiel verwijst naar de weelde van de Art Deco uit de jaren 1920, terwijl de geplooide fluwelen ophangmouwen een op maat gemaakte laag tactiele zachtheid toevoegen, die de industriële rand dempt om een eetkameratmosfeer te creëren die intiem, akoestisch en diep luxueus is.
Materialiteit & herkomst
We verwerpen de trend in de industrie van acryl en hars nepsteen. The Volterra is vervaardigd uit 100% gewonnen albast, specifiek geselecteerd vanwege de wolkachtige, rookachtige aders die garanderen dat geen twee armaturen identiek zijn. De stevige stenen lagen worden verankerd door een frame van massief koper (afgewerkt in een warme, satijn geborstelde messing tint), gekozen vanwege het superieure gewicht en de corrosiebestendigheid vergeleken met standaard staal. Dit is een armatuur met "erfgoedgewicht"—koud aanvoelend en gebouwd om het gebouw waarin het zich bevindt te overleven.
