Materiality
At Casalola, we celebrate the honesty of raw materials. The oversized dome and internal structural column are forged from heavy-gauge solid brass, finished with a hand-applied "Antique Patina" that reveals the metal's natural depth. The base is painstakingly wrapped in full-grain, vegetable-tanned Italian leather, secured with a distinctive vertical accent and hand-stitched by our local saddlers. Unlike mass-produced alternatives that use bonded leather or thin brass plating, the Trastevere is built from solid components designed to develop a beautiful, personal patina over decades of use.
The Casalola Standard
Every Trastevere unit is hand-finished in our Rome workshop, where we ensure the leather tension is perfect and the brass grain is uniform. Each lamp undergoes a comprehensive 24-hour electrical safety circuit test before being cleared for shipment. To ensure this substantial piece reaches your project site in pristine condition, it is packed in a custom-built, shock-absorbent wooden crate and shipped with full transit insurance.
