The Drum Alabaster Chandelier is two concentric tiers of hand-cut Spanish alabaster panels arranged as a round drum, hung on fine stainless-steel cables from a solid brass canopy. It comes in four diameters: 45 cm (17.7″), 60 cm (23.6″), 80 cm (31.5″) and 100 cm (39.4″), all 22 cm (8.7″) high. The cables are 120 cm (47.2″) and adjustable. It suits round dining tables, entrance halls and bedrooms.
The alabaster
The panels are cut by hand from Spanish alabaster, a soft, translucent stone with natural clouding and veining. They are left unmatched, and you can choose more, less or random veining when you order. Lit from within, the drum glows all the way around.
The frame
The canopy, hardware and the studs around the upper edge are solid brass. The studs hold the panels and are left visible as part of the design. The cables are braided stainless steel and almost disappear against the ceiling, so the drum seems to float beneath the canopy.
Why warm light matters
Alabaster takes on the colour of the light inside it. At 2700K it glows honey and cream, and the veining shows as soft amber and gray drifts through the stone. Cooler light turns it gray-white and flat, and the veining loses its depth. On this piece, warm white is part of the design.
Sizing and placement
The 45 cm (17.7″) suits a small round table of about 80 to 100 cm (31 to 39″), a bedroom or a hallway. The 60 cm (23.6″) suits a table of about 100 to 130 cm (39 to 51″). The 80 cm (31.5″) suits a table of about 130 to 170 cm (51 to 67″) or an entrance hall. The 100 cm (39.4″) suits a table of about 170 to 220 cm (67 to 87″) or a large living room. Over a table, hang the bottom 75 to 90 cm (30 to 35″) above the surface. At 22 cm (8.7″) high, the drum stays compact under a standard ceiling.
Suspension
With the full 120 cm (47.2″) cables, the drum hangs about 142 cm (56″) from the ceiling. The cables are adjustable, so it can be raised for a standard ceiling, and longer cables are made to order for stairwells and double-height rooms.
The light
The lamps sit inside the drum and the light passes out through the panels, giving warm ambient light around the room and onto the table below. Over a kitchen island or a desk, keep task lighting alongside it.
Lamping and installation
E14 lamps: ten on the 45 cm, twelve on the 60 cm, eighteen on the 80 cm and twenty-four on the 100 cm. Use warm white LED at 2700K. Bulbs are not included. The 45 cm weighs about 10 kg (22 lb), the 60 cm about 15 kg (33 lb), the 80 cm about 25 kg (55 lb) and the 100 cm about 37 kg (82 lb). The fixture is hardwired. For the 80 cm and 100 cm, have your electrician fix it to a joist or reinforced blocking rather than a standard ceiling box.
Care
Switch off and let the lamps cool first. Dust the alabaster with a soft dry cloth or a feather duster. Alabaster is a soft, porous stone, so use a dry cloth only: no water, no sprays and no cleaners. Wipe the brass with a soft dry cloth and keep metal polish off it.
Made to order
Every piece is made to order. Cable length is set to your ceiling height, and dimming is available on request. Chrome or black stainless steel can be made on request.

We wire every lamp in our workshop for the country it is delivered to. Voltage, plug and electrical standard are set from your delivery address, so there is nothing to choose at checkout. Pieces shipped to the US are fitted with UL-listed drivers and LED components.
The colour temperature is listed in the specifications. A dimmable version, or a warmer or cooler light, can be made at no extra cost: write it in the note at checkout.
Every piece is assembled, wired and switched on at our workshop bench before it is packed. We check the electrics, the fixings and the finish, and nothing is crated until it passes.
Ask us, and we send you a video of your own lamp, lit and working, before it leaves the workshop. It is free.
An installation manual is packed with every lamp. Hardwired fixtures should be installed by a licensed electrician.
For ceiling lights, a standard ceiling box carries about 23 kg (50 lb). Check the weight in the specifications: heavier pieces need a fan-rated box or a mounting plate fixed to a joist.
If a piece arrives damaged, defective or incorrect, email contact@casalolalights.com with your order number and photos. We cover the return shipping and send a free replacement or a full refund, with no restocking fee.
If a parcel is lost, we replace it free or refund it in full. An order not delivered within 90 days of dispatch is refunded automatically.
Every piece carries a two-year warranty against manufacturing defects, from the day it is delivered.
Standard catalogue pieces, including pieces made after you order, can be returned within 30 days of delivery. The piece must be unused, uninstalled and in its original packaging. A 20% restocking fee and return shipping apply.
Choosing a finish, size, dimming option, colour temperature, cable length or plug does not affect your right to return. Bespoke commissions (a non-catalogue size, a structural change or a specially commissioned material, agreed before payment) and items marked final sale cannot be returned for change of mind.
Cancelling
Free within 48 hours of ordering. After that, a charge of up to 20% may apply for materials and work already committed to your piece.

The form, size and finish will match. The stone will not be identical, because every piece of alabaster has its own veining and clouding. If you prefer a calmer or a richer stone, say so in the note at checkout and we select it for you. Before your lamp ships we film it lit, so you see your own stone before it leaves the workshop. On arrival, unpack and test-light it before installation, and send photos of any transit damage before it is fitted.
Yes, at no extra cost. The standard version is not dimmable; write #dim in the note at checkout and we fit a dimmable driver. Tell us the dimmer or smart-home system you use and we match the driver to it. The light is 2700K Warm White as standard; a warmer or cooler colour temperature can be made on request, also at no extra cost. Through alabaster, warm white gives the softest glow.
