A small piece of architecture on the wall.
Brass arm, two polished brown marble spheres stacked like a spine, and a hand-carved alabaster dome catching the light below. Thirteen inches tall, five and a half inches wide — the scale of a piece of sculpture, not a fixture. Off, it reads as a stacked object, the kind of thing you'd find on a shelf in a collector's apartment. On, the alabaster dome throws a warm downward wash that hits a vanity top, a console, a headboard — whatever you've placed it above.
Where it actually belongs:
- Either side of a bed, where the downward throw of the alabaster dome gives you readable light without the glare of a bare bulb. The E12 dims low for late-night use.
- In a powder room or over a vanity, where the dome softens the light into the kind of glow that flatters skin at any hour.
- Flanking a fireplace or a console in a formal living room, where the matched pair builds symmetry without competing with the art above.
- In a dressing room beside a full-length mirror — the warm light reads skin tone honestly, which sounds obvious until you've dressed under a cool bulb.
- Down a gallery hallway at intervals, where each piece punctuates the wall as an object rather than disappearing into the architecture.
About the materials.
The alabaster dome is hand-carved from natural Italian stone — every dome has its own veining pattern, its own translucency, its own map of soft mineral lines. The carving is what separates this from a poured glass diffuser: the stone itself is the shade, and the light inside it brings out the character of the piece rather than hiding it. You can request more veining (the heavily patterned pieces) or less veining (the softer, cloudier pieces) at checkout. If you don't specify, we choose from stock.
The two brown marble spheres stack along the brass arm in a detail that reads as deliberate. Polished Italian marble, each sphere hand-selected for color consistency within the pair — the brown pulls warm tones out of walnut vanities, rattan, caramel leather, and natural linen, and provides a counterweight to cooler rooms done in gray marble or creamy limewash.
The arm, backplate, and fittings are solid brass, not plated. Unlacquered, so the brass develops a warm patina over years — lacquer chips and fails unevenly, and at this price point a buyer would rather own a piece that ages than one that degrades.
Two finishes.
Brass (default) — warm, traditional-contemporary. Against walnut, travertine, creamy marbles, limewash, natural linen.
Brushed black — soft matte brushed finish, not painted, not shiny. For darker palettes: editorial powder rooms, black vanities, contemporary rooms where brass would feel too warm.
The Totem collection.
The Duetto is part of the Totem family — small, vertical, stacked wall sconces designed to be spec'd as objects rather than as background lighting. The Totem Petite (red marble sphere + alabaster cup) is its sibling: same language, different rhythm. Designers often pair them across a single project — Duetto over the primary vanity, Petite in the powder room, or Duetto flanking the bed and Petite down the hallway.

What bulbs are compatible?

Is this lamp dimmable?
The standard model ships non-dimmable. To request a dimmable version, add a note in your cart with the code #dim or contact us at contact@casalolalights.com before placing your order.
Can this be customized?

How do I clean and maintain it?
Wipe with a soft, dry microfiber cloth. For stone surfaces (alabaster, marble, travertine), never use chemical cleaners, abrasive materials, or wet cloths. For metal finishes (copper, brass), a dry cloth preserves the patina. For fabric shades (linen, cotton), use a soft brush attachment on a low-power vacuum.
How is it packaged?
Every lamp ships in a reinforced wooden crate with high-density foam suspension. All shipments are fully insured. We designed this packaging specifically to protect fragile natural materials during international transit.

What is the warranty?

Are the lamps smart-home compatible?

Made of Copper, Alabaster. Solid natural alabaster, cut thick enough to glow evenly when lit; the veining and clouding are unique to each piece and never repeat. It is heavier than it looks and cool to the touch — the two easiest ways to tell real stone from resin, which glows flat and feels warm. Solid copper that warms and deepens in tone over the years.Every Casalola piece is made to order, not taken from stock: the material is checked against the approved sample, the wiring, socket and driver are tested live, and the finished lamp is test-lit and photographed before it is crated.

This piece takes E12 bulbs, not included, so you choose the brightness. As a guide, a standard 470-lumen LED in each socket gives soft ambient light; for a dining or kitchen island use 1,000–1,200 lumens per socket. Bulb count is on the spec sheet. The alabaster diffuses the light, so the effect is warm and even rather than bright.
Supplied as Blanco cálido. 2700 K, 4000 K or a three-colour switchable module can be requested at no extra cost — leave a note at checkout. For the softest glow through alabaster, choose 2700–3000 K and a frosted bulb; a clear or cool-white bulb can create a bright spot inside the shade.
Made to order. Production takes 1–3 weeks, then 2–3 weeks for insured delivery to your door — about 3–6 weeks in total from order to installation. Dry, soft cloth only. Alabaster, travertine and marble are porous natural stone: water, sprays and chemicals soak in and leave marks that cannot be removed, so never use a damp cloth on the stone. Metal parts: dry microfiber cloth. Unlacquered brass and copper patinate naturally; a mild brass polish restores the original tone if preferred, kept away from any stone or fabric. Switch the light off and let it cool before cleaning.
Casalola lighting is lab-tested and certified to international electrical safety standards. The marks that apply to this piece — UL Listed, CSA, CE, CCC, PSE or RCM depending on the destination — are listed in the specification table, and the voltage, plug and wattage are configured for your address before dispatch.
