Alabaster in a steel cage.

A rectangular matte black frame, built like industrial steelwork — visible weld geometry, square chain, exposed hardware. Inside the frame, vertical panels of hand-cut Italian alabaster, mounted with a deliberately staggered top edge: alternating taller and shorter panels create a subtle crown of zigzag silhouette along the upper line of the fixture. The contrast is the design: hard industrial frame against soft warm stone, geometric steel against natural alabaster veining.

Travertino sits in a specific register — the industrial-modern alabaster slot. Where Cornice reads clean architectural and Voltesio reads refined minimal, Travertino reads urban-loft. For warehouse conversions, loft apartments, industrial-modern kitchens, hospitality spaces designed around exposed brick or steel, and contemporary residential architecture where the visual language already includes hard materials and the alabaster brings warmth into a cool palette.

About the alabaster.

Panels are hand-cut from solid Italian alabaster — vertical slabs, individually shaped, mounted along both long sides of the rectangular frame. The staggered top edge isn't decorative — alternating panels are cut to two different heights, creating the subtle crown geometry that distinguishes Travertino from a standard rectangular alabaster pendant.

Panels within a single fixture are not matched. Heavier veining beside softer translucency, deliberately. Matched stone reads as factory output; varied stone reads as real material.

Choose the veining at checkout:

• More veining — heavily patterned, dramatic, high-contrast mineral lines (recommended for Travertino — the dramatic veining reads strongly against the matte black frame)
• Less veining — softer, cloudier, more uniformly translucent
• Random selection — we choose from stock

When lit, the alabaster glows warm against the cool matte black frame — the temperature contrast (warm stone, cool metal) is the visual signature. This contrast doesn't work in clean white interiors; it works in palettes that have at least one cool or dark anchor (charcoal walls, blackened steel, dark wood, concrete, exposed brick).

About the frame.

The frame, chain, and all hardware are solid steel with matte black powder-coat finish — built for industrial weight tolerance and finish durability. Powder-coat is chosen over paint because it resists wear at the chain contact points and along the visible weld edges, which would show degradation on painted finishes within a year.

Default finish is matte black (shown). Also available in brushed gold for a warmer transitional read — same construction, different powder-coat tone. Specify at checkout.

The light.

10 × E12 candelabra base, max 40W per socket. Total load: 400W — standard 600W dimmer accommodates the full load.

LED candelabra recommended. Lower heat protects the alabaster long-term; longer life across 10 sockets reduces replacement cycles.

Dimmable on TRIAC 120V AC — Lutron Caseta, US residential dimmers, most home automation.

Custom IP65 wet-rated version available.

Standard ships dry-rated for indoor use. For wet-zone applications — covered outdoor industrial-style patios, hospitality wet areas, pool houses — Travertino is available with IP65 specification. Add $650 at checkout. Lead time extends 3–4 weeks.

Chain.

Matte black (or brushed gold) square-link steel chain, 40cm / 16" standard length, fully customizable at order. Specify your ceiling height and we ship to your requirement. Extended chains for double-height lofts and converted warehouse ceilings available at no additional charge.
