The Tiered Alabaster Chandelier in black is a stepped chandelier of hand-cut Spanish alabaster panels in concentric tiers, each smaller than the one above, on a stainless-steel frame finished in black. It comes in four sizes: 2 tiers, 45 cm (17.7″) wide and 45 cm (17.7″) high; 3 tiers, 60 cm (23.6″) wide and 55 cm (21.7″) high; 4 tiers, 80 cm (31.5″) wide and 55 cm (21.7″) high; and 5 tiers, 110 cm (43.3″) wide and 100 cm (39.4″) high. It hangs from a 50 cm (19.7″) chain and suits round dining tables, entrance halls and contemporary rooms.
The alabaster
The panels are cut by hand from Spanish alabaster, a soft, translucent stone with natural clouding and veining. They are left unmatched between tiers, and you can choose more, less or random veining when you order. Off, the chandelier reads as layered, sculpted stone. On, every tier glows from within.
The frame
The frame, canopy, chain and hardware are stainless steel finished in black. The dark metal sets off the warm stone and gives the stepped form a more graphic outline, at home against deeper wall colours. The same form is also made in solid brass.
Why warm light matters
Alabaster takes on the colour of the light inside it. At 2700K it glows honey and cream, and the veining shows as soft amber and gray drifts through the stone. Cooler light turns it gray-white and flat, and the veining loses its depth. On this piece, warm white is part of the design.
Sizing and placement
The 45 cm (17.7″) suits a small round table of about 80 to 100 cm (31 to 39″), a powder room or a hallway. The 60 cm (23.6″) suits a table of about 100 to 130 cm (39 to 51″) or a bedroom. The 80 cm (31.5″) suits a table of about 130 to 170 cm (51 to 67″). The 110 cm (43.3″) suits a table of about 190 to 240 cm (75 to 94″), an entrance hall or a stairwell. Over a table, hang the bottom 75 to 90 cm (30 to 35″) above the surface.
Suspension
With the standard 50 cm (19.7″) chain, the 45 cm hangs about 95 cm (37″) from the ceiling, the 60 cm and 80 cm about 105 cm (41″), and the 110 cm about 150 cm (59″). Over a table the smaller sizes suit ceilings of about 2.5 to 2.7 m (8 to 9 ft) and the 110 cm about 3 to 3.2 m (10 to 10.5 ft). The chain is adjustable and can be made longer to order.
The light
The lamps sit inside the tiers and the light washes up and down through the stone, so the chandelier gives a layered, ambient light rather than a direct downlight. Over a kitchen island or a desk, keep task lighting alongside it.
Lamping and installation
E14 lamps: twelve on the 45 cm, sixteen on the 60 cm, twenty on the 80 cm and forty-eight on the 110 cm. Use warm white LED at 2700K. Bulbs are not included. The 2-tier weighs about 10 kg (22 lb), the 3-tier about 16 kg (35 lb), the 4-tier about 25 kg (55 lb) and the 5-tier about 60 kg (132 lb). The fixture is hardwired. For the 4 and 5-tier, have your electrician fix it to a joist or reinforced blocking rather than a standard ceiling box.
Care
Switch off and let the lamps cool first. Dust the alabaster with a soft dry cloth or a feather duster. Alabaster is a soft, porous stone, so use a dry cloth only: no water, no sprays and no cleaners. Wipe the black steel with a soft dry cloth and keep abrasive products off the finish.

Every piece is made to order. Chain length is set to your ceiling height, and dimming is available on request. Chrome or matte brass can be made on request.

We wire every lamp in our workshop for the country it is delivered to. Voltage, plug and electrical standard are set from your delivery address, so there is nothing to choose at checkout. Pieces shipped to the US are fitted with UL-listed drivers and LED components.
The colour temperature is listed in the specifications. A dimmable version, or a warmer or cooler light, can be made at no extra cost: write it in the note at checkout.
Every piece is assembled, wired and switched on at our workshop bench before it is packed. We check the electrics, the fixings and the finish, and nothing is crated until it passes.
Ask us, and we send you a video of your own lamp, lit and working, before it leaves the workshop. It is free.
An installation manual is packed with every lamp. Hardwired fixtures should be installed by a licensed electrician.
For ceiling lights, a standard ceiling box carries about 23 kg (50 lb). Check the weight in the specifications: heavier pieces need a fan-rated box or a mounting plate fixed to a joist.
If a piece arrives damaged, defective or incorrect, email contact@casalolalights.com with your order number and photos. We cover the return shipping and send a free replacement or a full refund, with no restocking fee.
If a parcel is lost, we replace it free or refund it in full. An order not delivered within 90 days of dispatch is refunded automatically.
Every piece carries a two-year warranty against manufacturing defects, from the day it is delivered.
Standard catalogue pieces, including pieces made after you order, can be returned within 30 days of delivery. The piece must be unused, uninstalled and in its original packaging. A 20% restocking fee and return shipping apply.
Choosing a finish, size, dimming option, colour temperature, cable length or plug does not affect your right to return. Bespoke commissions (a non-catalogue size, a structural change or a specially commissioned material, agreed before payment) and items marked final sale cannot be returned for change of mind.
Cancelling
Free within 48 hours of ordering. After that, a charge of up to 20% may apply for materials and work already committed to your piece.

Yes. Size, proportions and metal finish can be adapted on most models, and we send you a drawing to approve before production. Changes to wiring, dimming or colour temperature keep the piece returnable; changes to its outer form are made for you alone and cannot be returned. The form, size and finish will match. The stone will not be identical, because every piece of alabaster has its own veining and clouding. If you prefer a calmer or a richer stone, say so in the note at checkout and we select it for you. Before your lamp ships we film it lit, so you see your own stone before it leaves the workshop. On arrival, unpack and test-light it before installation, and send photos of any transit damage before it is fitted.
Yes, at no extra cost. The standard version is not dimmable; write #dim in the note at checkout and we fit a dimmable driver. Tell us the dimmer or smart-home system you use and we match the driver to it. The light is 2700K Warm White as standard; a warmer or cooler colour temperature can be made on request, also at no extra cost. Through alabaster, warm white gives the softest glow.
It weighs 10 kg (2-tier) / 16 (3) / 25 (4) / 60 kg (5-tier). That is above what a standard ceiling box carries (about 23 kg, 50 lb), so it needs a fan-rated box or a mounting plate fixed to a joist, installed by a licensed electrician.
