The Sabina Flush Mount is the close-to-ceiling form of the Sabina: natural linen draped by hand and gathered into a soft shade with a scalloped rim, fixed to the ceiling rather than hung on chains. It comes in four diameters, 40 cm (15.7″), 60 cm (23.6″), 80 cm (31.5″) and 100 cm (39.4″), with shade heights of 20, 25, 35 and 40 cm (7.9, 9.8, 13.8 and 15.7″).
The linen
The shade is 100% natural linen, draped and gathered by hand in our workshop. The folds run vertically down the sides and the rim curls in soft scallops. Because every Sabina is gathered by hand, the placing of the folds, the depth of the scallops and the cream tone of the cloth vary from one to the next. Switched off, it reads as a piece of sculpted cloth; switched on, the whole shade glows.
Why warm light matters
Linen takes on the colour of the light behind it. At 2700K the cloth glows a soft cream, like a lantern; cooler light makes it look grey and flat. On this piece, warm white is part of the design.
Sizing and placement
A flush mount is the answer where a pendant would hang too low: a bedroom, a hallway or a living room with a standard or low ceiling. The 40 cm (15.7″) suits a hallway, a walk-in wardrobe or a powder room. The 60 cm (23.6″) suits a bedroom or a study. The 80 cm (31.5″) suits a main bedroom or a living room, and the 100 cm (39.4″) a large living room or an open-plan space. The 80 and 100 cm sit deeper, so they read best under ceilings of about 2.5 m (8 ft 2 in) and up.
The light
The lamps sit inside the linen, which glows evenly from within and keeps them from showing as bright spots. It gives a soft, ambient light across the room. Over a desk or a dressing table, keep task lighting alongside it.
Lamping and installation
Three E26 lamps (E27 outside North America). Warm white LED at 2700K is recommended: it runs cooler and keeps the linen in good condition. Bulbs are not included. With no chains, it is light: about 1.3 kg (2.9 lb) at 40 cm, 2.7 kg (6 lb) at 60 cm, 4.5 kg (9.9 lb) at 80 cm and 7.2 kg (15.9 lb) at 100 cm. The fixture is hardwired by your electrician. It is made for indoor use in dry rooms, away from bathrooms and damp spaces.
Care
Switch off and let the lamps cool. Dust the linen with a soft, dry brush, or a vacuum on its lowest setting with a brush attachment. Keep water and cleaning products away from the cloth.
Made to order
Every Sabina is made to order and gathered by hand. Dimming is available on request, and the Sabina is also made as a pendant on chains. Trade clients can request drawings and project quantities through our trade program.

Changed Your Mind

Logistics
Every Casalola lamp is made to order in our workshop. Production begins about two days after your order. Production time and transit time are separate; both are stated below for this lamp.
Each piece is wired for your destination's voltage and plug standard, bench-tested with the lamp lit, then packed in a reinforced wooden crate with foam suspension and shipped fully insured to the USA, EU, UK, Australia, Asia and the Middle East.
Estimated production time is 2 weeks. Most of our lamps are handmade by skilled artisans and produced as bespoke pieces. Please allow us the necessary time for manufacturing, quality control, and voltage/plug adaptation according to your location.

Yes. Size, proportions and metal finish can be adapted on most models, and we send you a drawing to approve before production. Changes to wiring, dimming or colour temperature keep the piece returnable; changes to its outer form are made for you alone and cannot be returned. Yes, at no extra cost. The standard version is not dimmable; write #dim in the note at checkout and we fit a dimmable driver. Tell us the dimmer or smart-home system you use and we match the driver to it. The light is 2700K Warm White as standard; a warmer or cooler colour temperature can be made on request, also at no extra cost. Through linen, warm white gives the softest glow.
It weighs Ø40cm ~1.3 kg / Ø60cm ~2.7 kg / Ø80cm ~4.5 kg / Ø100cm ~7.2 kg (flush mount, no chain). A standard ceiling box carries about 23 kg (50 lb), so a box properly fixed to a joist, not to plasterboard alone, will hold it. Installation is hardwired; we recommend a licensed electrician.
