Rows of stone, lit like candles.

Two parallel brass rails run the length of the fixture. Mounted to them: rows of small hand-carved alabaster cylinders in deliberate rhythm — some pointing up from the lower rail, others down from the upper. Each cylinder houses a single small bulb, and the alabaster diffuses it as warm, contained light, closer to a row of candles than to a contemporary chandelier. Filari sits in the cleanest architectural register of the alabaster catalogue: modern, minimal, geometric — functional task light alongside warm ambient diffusion, without the visual weight of a traditional chandelier. Where it belongs

85cm (33.5"): over a 4–6 seat dining table in a contemporary apartment or smaller dining room with 9–11ft ceilings; above a 6–7ft kitchen island; in a compact dining space where a lower-profile horizontal silhouette won't overpower; in a Japandi, wabi-sabi or Mediterranean-modern interior.

About the alabaster cylinders. Each cylinder is hand-carved from solid Italian alabaster, 16cm tall, individually shaped and polished. The cylinders within a single Filari are not matched — heavier veining beside softer translucency, mounted in a deliberate rhythm that creates visual variation across the length. Choose the veining at checkout: more veining (heavily patterned, dramatic, high-contrast), less veining (softer, milkier, more uniformly translucent), or random selection from stock. When lit, each cylinder glows from within as its own warm light source; the row of small lit cylinders creates the characteristic Filari effect — not a single bright source, but a distributed row of warm, candle-like points.

About the construction. The double-rail brass spine is the structural feature: two parallel rails of solid brass run the length of the fixture, with the alabaster cylinders mounted between them in alternating up-down configuration. The brass is solid (not plated) because any plating defect would be immediately visible against the polished alabaster. Default finish is brushed brass; brushed black is available at no additional cost — specify at checkout. Both finishes hold their character without lacquer and darken gently over years into a warmer patina.

About the suspension. The suspension rods feature a fabric-wrapped detail along the upper drop — a soft tailored sleeve gathered around the brass rod, deliberate soft material above hard structure. Default fabric is warm champagne to match the brass; a black option pairs with the black brass finish.

Chain and drop. Default chain is 40cm / 16", fully customizable at order. Minimum fixture height (top of suspension to lowest cylinder) is 43cm / 17". Specify your ceiling height at checkout and we ship rod length sized to your requirement at no additional charge.

The light. Filari 85: 14 × G4 LED. Filari 100: 18 × G4 LED. Filari 120: 22 × G4 LED — max 20W per socket (final cylinder count confirmed at order). G4 LED bulbs draw ~1–2W each in real use, so the entire fixture pulls less than a single standard incandescent bulb — bright enough for primary dining illumination, low enough for ambient evening use through dimming. Dimmable on TRIAC 120V AC (Lutron Caseta, US residential dimmers, most home automation; compatible dimmable G4 LED bulbs required). 3000K warm white recommended to pair with the warm alabaster; 2700K or 4000K available by bulb choice.

Custom IP65 wet-rated version available for covered outdoor dining pavilions, primary bathrooms and pool houses — specify at checkout; lead time extends 3–4 weeks.
