The Intreccio in beige is a tiered drum chandelier of hand-woven rattan: five stepped bands, widest at the centre and narrowing towards the top and the base, hung from a round canopy on a link chain. It is made in two sizes, 71 cm (28") across and 51 cm (20") high, or 102 cm (40") across and 66 cm (26") high.
The weave
Every band is woven by hand in an open basket weave, so light passes through the gaps as well as through the fibre. The beige is a pale, natural tone close to raw fibre; it keeps a room light and sits easily with white oak, linen, stone and white walls, the easy choice for a coastal or Scandinavian interior. The canopy and chain are finished in a soft bronze tone. Because each shade is woven by hand, the tension and spacing of the weave vary slightly from piece to piece.
How it lights a room
The lamps sit inside the drum. Lit, the pale rattan glows almost like a paper lantern and casts a soft woven pattern across the ceiling and walls. It is an ambient light: over a working kitchen island, keep task lighting alongside it.
Choosing a size
The 71 cm (28") suits a bedroom, an entrance or a round table of about 100 to 130 cm (39 to 51"). The 102 cm (40") suits a living room, an open-plan space or a dining table of 180 cm (71") and longer. Over a table, hang the lowest band 75 to 90 cm (30 to 35") above the surface; in a walkway, keep at least 2.1 m (7 ft) clear beneath it.
Suspension and installation
It hangs from a round canopy on a link chain, and the chain is made to the length your ceiling needs, including for high and double-height ceilings. Hardwired by your electrician. Rattan is light for its size: the estimated weight is about 4 to 6 kg (9 to 13 lb) for the 71 cm and 8 to 11 kg (18 to 24 lb) for the 102 cm. A sloped ceiling adapter is available on request.
Lamping
The 71 cm takes one E26 lamp and the 102 cm takes three (E27 outside North America). Use LED lamps, which keep the fibre cool, at warm white 2700K; on a pale weave cool white reads grey. Bulbs are not included.
Care
Dust the weave with a soft dry brush, or a vacuum on its lowest setting with a brush attachment. Keep water and cleaning products away from the rattan. For indoor use in dry rooms.
Made to order
Chain length is set to your ceiling before production, and dimming and a sloped ceiling adapter are available on request. The Intreccio is also woven in cognac and in black. Trade clients can request drawings and project quantities through our trade program.

Every Casalola lamp is made to order in our workshop. Production begins about two days after your order. Production time and transit time are separate; both are stated below for this lamp.
Each piece is wired for your destination's voltage and plug standard, bench-tested with the lamp lit, then packed in a reinforced wooden crate with foam suspension and shipped fully insured to the USA, EU, UK, Australia, Asia and the Middle East.
Made to order in our workshop. Production begins about two days after your order and takes 2 to 3 weeks, including wiring for your destination and a lit bench test before packing. Transit time below is separate.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
Yes, both ways, at no extra cost. The drop can be shortened for a lower ceiling, or extended in 50 cm (20 in) sections for a higher one, and we set the finished height to your room. For double-height rooms and stairwells, drops beyond 3 m (10 ft) are quoted with a drawing for you to approve before production. Yes, at no extra cost. The standard version is not dimmable; write #dim in the note at checkout and we fit a dimmable driver. Tell us the dimmer or smart-home system you use and we match the driver to it. The light is 2700K Warm White as standard; a warmer or cooler colour temperature can be made on request, also at no extra cost.
It weighs about 4–6 kg / 9–13 lb (71 cm) / 8–11 kg / 18–24 lb (102 cm), estimate. A standard ceiling box carries about 23 kg (50 lb), so a box properly fixed to a joist, not to plasterboard alone, will hold it. Installation is hardwired; we recommend a licensed electrician.
